FAQs

What is a hypoallergenic treat?

A treat that is hypoallergenic is one which reduces the risk of an allergic reaction.

Typically, the best treats for dogs who are prone to stomach upsets are ones that are gluten/grain-free and come from a single protein source. However, it is not uncommon for some dogs to have allergies to specific protein sources.

If your dog has very specific allergies, we highly recommend that you read the Dietary Information for each item you purchase to reduce the likelihood of an adverse reaction.

Which dog breeds tend to have the most sensitive stomachs?

There is no limit as to what breeds may experience stomach upsets as a result of eating non-hypoallergenic treats. However, there are certain breeds that are more renowned for having tummy troubles when consuming certain ingredients.

These include Poodles, Labradors, Golden Retrievers, Irish Setters, Great Danes, Cocker Spaniels, Shar Peis, Boxers and Yorkshire Terriers.

My dog itches a lot. Could it be what I'm feeding them?

Possibly. Skin irritation is one of the most common signs that your dog is experiencing an allergic reaction and may mean that you need to consider opting for hypoallergenic meals and treats.

Please consult a veterinarian if your dog if you notice any of the following:
- Biting, licking or chewing their skin
- Skin redness
- Itchy skin
- Hives
- Rashes
